Roof Replacement
Full roof replacement starts with a complete tear-off down to the deck. We inspect every board for rot or soft spots. In Guys, we find decking damage on about 30% of tear-offs. Damaged sections get replaced with CDX plywood before anything else goes on. Then we build up: ice and water shield in valleys and at eaves, synthetic underlayment across the full deck, new drip edge on every edge, starter strip, field shingles, hip and ridge caps, and ridge vent. Dumpster, permits, and cleanup included.

Not all storm damage qualifies for a full replacement. Hail might only damage one slope. Wind might only lift shingles on the windward side. We document exactly what's damaged and let the insurance company make the call. Honest documentation gets claims approved. Inflated claims get denied.

PVC membrane for Guys restaurants, commercial kitchens, and facilities with rooftop grease exhaust or chemical exposure. PVC resists oils and animal fats that destroy TPO and EPDM membranes. We install IB Roof Systems and Duro-Last PVC with factory-fabricated accessories for watertight penetration details. Built-up roofing (BUR) uses 3 or 4 plies of fiberglass felt in hot asphalt with a gravel or cap sheet surface. Oldest proven flat roof system, with 30+ year service life in Tennessee. We still install BUR when the application calls for it.

Seamless aluminum in 5" K-style is the standard for Guys residential. We use 6" K-style on larger homes, steeper pitches, or roof areas with high water volume. Downspouts are 2x3" on 5" gutters and 3x4" on 6" gutters. Matched to handle the flow.

Commercial and flat roof inspections include infrared moisture scanning with Flir E8 thermal cameras. Trapped moisture in the insulation layer shows as temperature differentials on the thermal image. No need to cut core samples everywhere. We identify wet zones, then core sample the suspect areas to confirm. This approach gives you a precise repair scope at a fraction of the cost of exploratory tear-offs.
